Not much is known about the music that was played and performed during early interstellar travels and missions, and recently found cassette tapes offer rare glimpse into it.

Tapes were seemingly made between 2051 to 2103, played by so-called 'navigators', highly trained musicians on various modular synthesizers, special instruments and/or procedural software. The performed music was fed directly into cryo-chambers consisting of up to 100.000 passengers, each ship containting at least 3 such chambers, leading to huge ships with vast spaces perfect for some juicy ambient musicalia. That was of course way before time-capsules were discovered and technology was still a mix of old and new inventions.

Why was the music recorded onto tapes, we do not know - the compositions were after all very long, light year long if needed. Certain hand-written liner notes on the cover trays suggest they were regulary exchanged between navigators and then played back repeatedly into other chambers as well. Maybe so they could take five. Or tapes were perhaps just an inside joke between musicians. We do not know.

We at Audiostrata Corp decided to virtually release this recordings for posterity sake. Enjoy.
